Day at XC Camp

So today I drove down with Kaitlin to visit XC camp and spend the day with the girls. Their workout went really well; it is always very pleasing to watch everyone work hard. I definitely miss camping with the team and for sure will miss the atmosphere and my second "family." However, for the short time I was there, I felt like part of the team again - running, icing, and just chilling. The Tranters also came up to make dinner and it was very delicious. Lots of chicken, pork tenderloin, and fruits! Sadly, I had to go home after dinner :( I can't seem to make myself part with the team but seeing as how I will be at Cornell soon, it is inevitable. So this day was really the last day for me to be part of the whole team before moving on and I am very glad that I did this :) On to a new chapter of my life...

Money, Money, Money

Today I went to the fair with James. Usually I would go with Lyndsey but alas, she has work. Anyways, this year like all the years before, I only go to see the 4-H displays. However, before I even arrive, there was the matter of parking. Finding space and parking is easy enough. However, finding a spot in which fair-goers are allowed to park but at the same time escaping the parking fee is not so simple. After numerous stops without success, I finally ended up parking near the middle school parking lot. I am merely a little annoyed with the fact that in their (whoever deals with parking fees) greed for money, they much gip people of a few dollars to park. Why, under any normal circumstances, no money is necessary to park. I simply find it absurd that we must pay to even grace the fairgrounds...how unfair.

NYC Trip

I have to say that this year's NYC trip is definitely the best. It really didn't start well but it certainly ended well. Let's see, we didn't arrive at LGA until 10pm due to storms so we pretty much spent the whole day on a plane. The next day, my cousin Ah-Ping took me and Sandy to Broadway and Time Square.

So here is Broadway and the girl looking back at me is my cousin. Notice the McDonald on the right...it really should be a symbol of America - its EVERYWHERE!

So this is the M&M king. We went into this gigantic M&M store, which is right next to the Hershey store. For M&M fans, this is your dream store. There are three floors of M&M items and food.

This is a view of NYC from the top of the Rockefeller Center.

So the rest of my week at NYC was pretty awesome. There was a cousin cookout on July 4; that was a blast. On that day, I learned how to play poker and in the process kicked my cousin Alan's butt. We also had way too much food: chicken, steak, hamburgers, and shrimp kabob. I bet there is still some left. The advice I received from my cousin Alice: run if my mom mentions meeting a guy. (lol) I bet all of you are confused. So my aunts are big into matchmaking their kids in hopes of marriage and grandchildren. Fortunately, all of their attempts have failed. Despite this, I shall run away from home if my mom decides to join the Mother Matchmaking Club.

Cleaning

I, like many other, dislike cleaning. Yet, what convinces me to clean? I have to say that the feeling of disgust far outweighs my dislike. Plus when you have two spiders show up on the same day, it probably is time for a cleaning session - for those of you who don't know, I despise spiders. So here I am cleaning and I find all sorts of interesting items left behind by my dear cousin Serina: fish food, gummy bears, crayons, and random food bits. No wonder there are critters around! I thought that was bad enough; no, behind these weights I found the spider hangout. (lol) I didn't really see them clearly. I just freaked out, vacuum them up really fast, and jumped away. Hopefully, the vacuum sucked up all of them; otherwise, some more painful death might me in motion for them :)

The First Post

Hmmm, what should my first post be about? I can't just yammer about my life. After all, the first post is super important. It sets the tone for the blog, not just for you, the reader but also, for me, the writer. In any case, I assume I must introduce myself. Because some of you (that's right stalker or stranger, I mean you) will ignore my warning to GO AWAY, I will just list some unimportant - it is actually important to me - details of me. Given that most people viewing this know who I am, I don't have to list the usual name, age, school, and so on.

Here are some aspects of me that you might not know. I like Smileys. A lot. To a fault, too. Of course, my love for Smileys are not because they're cute, although they are: that would just be very superficial. No, the reason is very simple. It embodies the way I want to view life - with joy and positivity. Ooops, (lol) I only gave you one aspect of me. Well, you get the idea. Besides, I like to play it safe and just leave it at that (I do not want to die or be harm!).

Okay, moving on. My purpose for creating a blog. Well, jeeze, I would think that is very obvious. Clearly, to entertain the reader. (lol) I'm just kidding. Really, I'm going to a college far, far away, and instead of emailing thousands of people (an exaggeration, I really don't know that many people), I can just keep a blog for people to keep up with my life. There is also 10% of my mind that also hopes I will become a better writer. Currently, I'm squashing that part and scolding it. Seriously, I don't like writing (but maybe I will grow to like it says that part), and its summer - NO references to school!
